Crime Scene: Darwyn Cooke's The Spirit

Freeze! To celebrate the release of The Mammoth Book of Best Crime Comics, we’re celebrating the best crime comics ever, be they new fish or old hoods, in our blockbusting Crime Scene promotion.

These new Spirit stories entertain without radically changing the character or concept. This is not a re-imagining of the Spirit. It’s the same fun guy written with all of the respect due Eisner's vision of the strip. Cooke’s Spirit, like Eisner’s, is a hero who gets involved in funny and/or dangerous situations while tracking down colorful crooks and encountering a series of unforgettable femmes fatales.
