Johnny Cash Bookplate Edition - Exclusive to Gosh!

The Gosh! brood of exclusive Bookplate Editions continues to grow! Just in this week is Reinhard Kleist’s Johnny Cash: I See a Darkness, the first and only graphic biography of the Man in Black.

Kleist’s stunning, award-winning black and white illustrations are perfect for the controversial musician’s tumultuous life and work. His book covers everything from his early sessions with Elvis to the 1968 Folsom Prison concert recording, to Cash’s final spectacular comeback which saw him win over a new generation of fans with five great albums, one of which featured a cover of the Nine Inch Nails song Hurt (and a stellar video to boot) just before his death in 2003.

With over 20 000 copies sold in foreign editions already, plus three highly laudable awards to its name (Peng Munich Comics Prize, Frankfurt Book Fair Sondermann Prize, and the most prestigious of all, the Max und Moritz prize in Germany) it’s a book we’ll be hearing about for a long time to come.

Here at Gosh! we’ve got 200 signed and numbered Bookplate Editions featuring new art by Kleist created just for this purpose. It’s a softcover, £14.99, and a very handsome book indeed.

Does the author credit Will Olham for the title?
